Book Review: Double Trouble by Jenny Dale (Puppy Patrol #4)

Another Puppy Patrol book. Spoilers ahead.

Side note: This is the fourth book in the series, but the second book I'm reviewing. This is because I don't own all the books of this series (there's a lot). Also, not all of them have been translated into Dutch (yet). However, this series is pretty much an anthology and can be read out of order. So it shouldn't be an issue.

Book Review: Teacher's Pet by Jenny Dale (Puppy Patrol #1)

Ah, the Puppy Patrol books. Massive nostalgia for me. The Dutch translations of these are some of the earliest books I remember devouring as a kid.

Last week I visited a secondhand book store and to my surprise, they had a small selection of Puppy Patrol books available. So I bought them with the purpose of reading and reviewing them, and of course just enjoying them and reliving some nostalgia. Spoilers ahead.

Saw that my library had a new book about wolves available, so I checked it out. Spoilers ahead.

Book Review: Rain Must Fall by Ryder Phoenix (Rainbow Reflections #5)

Only one book left after this one. But how is this book? Is it good, or maybe not? Let's take a look.

Also yes, obvious disclaimer is obvious, I am friends with the author, but this review is my honest opinion.

Book Review: The Storm by Dayna Lorentz (Dogs of the Drowned City #1)

A book I've been interested in reading like forever. Spoilers ahead.

Book Review: Keeper's Travels in Search of His Master by Edward Augustus Kendall

This is a book I picked up not because it particularly interesting to me, but rather for the context around it: It being one of the first published xenofiction novels we know of. I managed to find a public domain ebook of it and gave it a read. Spoilers ahead (for as far as one can see spoilers for a 200+ year old book as actual spoilers).

Book Review: Cliff of Shadows by Tymofiy Antonov (Dawnmist: Spirits and Shadows #1)

Another wolf xenofiction I randomly came across one day, instantly bought, and instantly read. Spoilers ahead.

Book Review: Coyote Island by Sophie Torro (The Wolves of Elementa)

Not entirely sure where this is positioned in the Wolves of Elementa series, but my guess is after book two but maybe even later. Ah well, spoilers ahead.

Book Review: Bear Rescue by Hannah Gold (The Last Bear 3.5)

Another installment in the Hannah Gold Bear-series. This one being kinda like a short side-story for World Book Day 2026, so don't go in expecting a full-sized novel like with the other Bear stories. Spoilers ahead.

Saturday, May 16, 2026

Book Review: The Fox and the Hound by Daniel P. Mannix

This one has been on my TBR shelf literally forever. So let's finally take a look. Spoilers ahead.

Book Review: Turtle Moon by Hannah Gold

I've read all of Gold's books taking place in the "Bear-niverse" (for lack of a better term), but so far haven't checked out the other stand-alone novels by her, Turtle Moon and The Last Whale. So why not do that now? My library thankfully has copies. Spoilers ahead.

Book Review: Be Prepared by Farrah Rochon (A Twisted Tale #20)

This is a book I've been anticipating for a long time, but had trouble ordering for some reason. The first time I ordered it my copy got lost in the mail and I was automatically refunded. The second time the package was delayed twice, then lost again, yet it suddenly showed up right out of nowhere a week later. So at least I have the book now, but at the same time, where did the mail keep messing up so badly?

Oh well. Spoilers ahead and stuff.

Saturday, May 9, 2026

Book Review: The Legend of the Plaid Parakeet by K.J. Backer (Pet Legends #3)

The third book in the series. Perhaps the last? It has been a while since this released and I haven't seen any updates on Pet Legends in a bit.

Spoilers ahead.

Book Review: The Dogs of Winter by Bobbie Pyron

Honestly funnily enough I read this book before with the intention of reviewing it, but for whatever reason it completely slipped my mind. And by the time I remembered that I had to review it, the memory was too long-faded to be able to provide the book a fair review. So now I gave it another read. Spoilers ahead.

Book Review: Three Saints Fruits by Chen Jiatong (The White Fox #3)

Note: This book has, at the time of publishing this review, not been translated into English (yet). I am unable to read the original Chinese release, therefore I'll be basing my review on the German edition which I read.

Book three time! Spoilers ahead!

Book Review: Ghost on the Island by Morgan L. Booth

This book appears to be a reboot of the book Fearless by the same author. I've tried to obtain a copy of Fearless for quite some time now (well over a year if I recall correctly), but it's out of print and so far I haven't been lucky enough to find one. So the reboot will have to suffice. Spoiler ahead.

Friday, April 10, 2026
