Book Review: The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings #1)

What can be said about Tolkien's works by me that hasn't already been echoed by everyone else? They're groundbreaking. Modern fantasy wouldn't exist in the way it does today without it.

I have actually reviewed The Lord of the Rings as a trilogy before, however I am no longer fond of said review and therefore will be re-reviewing each book separately. Spoilers ahead, obviously.

Book Review: Lost Animals by Errol Fuller

Yet another non-fiction to add to the shelf. This time, however, we're taking a look at descriptions of extinct species, rather than wolves like usual.

Book Review: Coming Home by Rebecca Mazur

For those not in the loop, a while back a team of animators known as Silver Sky Studios started a project named Wolf. It's to be a independent fully 2D-animated movie about a pack of wolves in North America. The project has seemingly gotten quite far, judging by the previews they've put out on their YouTube channel, however the last update on the project has been a while ago. I am uncertain of its current status, but still hope they complete it someday!

All of this is leading up to this book, which has already been released: a prequel novel to the movie. I legit wanted to get this book since I first discovered the project as a youngun, but due to my parents not wanting to buy from Amazon (or honestly any online sources for the most part) I had to wait. Then, by the time I was old enough to order it by myself, it was unavailable for quite a while. But it's back up and available, so I finally managed to snag a copy! Let's dive right in, spoilers ahead.

Book Review: The Last Ringbearer by Kirill Yeskov

Note: The title of this book has been translated into English by me for the reading comprehension of this blog's viewers as the book itself isn't available in English (yet). The original title reads Последний кольценосец.

Don't you love historical revisionist Lord of the Rings fanfiction in the morning? Yes, this is a thing. An officially-published Russian alternate take of the events of the War of the Ring from Mordor's point of view. As said before, there is no current official English release, but it has been fan-translated and said translation is available as an Epub for free online. I'll be reviewing this translation as I don't speak/read Russian. Spoilers ahead.

Book Review: The White She-wolf by Vanessa Walder (The Secret Life of Animals: Forest #1)

Note: The title of this book and series have been translated into English by me for the reading comprehension of this blog's viewers. The original title reads Die Weiße Wolfin from the Das Geheime Leben der Tiere: Wald series. The book is currently not available in English (yet).

I really don't read enough German books. I mean, I do, but often times I'll instead read the Dutch/English translations since those are the languages I'm most comfortable with. However, I am still trilingual; German is actually my second language I was taught at a young age by my family due to me having plenty of German relatives.

And my comprehension of the language is...varying. I can very well understand it when reading, watching movies/series or even in a basic conversation. However, speaking/writing it is very difficult to me. So it boils down to me being pretty good at understanding it, but not being great at communicating in it myself. I know the basics, but just find it very difficult.

Anyways, here's a book I'm reading and reviewing today that hasn't been translated into any other language (as far as I know) yet! So I'll be reviewing the original German version! Spoilers ahead.
