One I intended to buy but later ended up finding at the library. So might as well simply borrow it. Spoilers ahead. And content warnings for mentions of animal cruelty/death and (domestic) abuse.

A book I initially wanted to grab at the bookstore, but ultimately just borrowed from the library. Let's have a look, shall we?
It's not a secret that I love spiders, so why not read an actual book about them for once? Plus some other arachnids and bugs as a bonus.
Finally finished book three! I do plan on covering this entire series eventually, but that takes time, of course. Spoilers ahead.
I recently wrote a review of book two of this series, only to realize I never tackled the first. So here we go. Spoilers ahead.
I can't believe I'm finally continuing this series at long last. To clarify, I've already reviewed all of Lasky's Wolves of the Beyond, as well as read the first book in this series (but not reviewed it yet), and neither sold me on Lasky as a xenofiction writer in particular. I just had trouble being engaged in the world set up. So maybe this book changes things? Spoilers ahead.
For someone who loves the prehistoric times, canines and is very interested by the subject of canine evolution, I'm surprised I never picked up a book on the subject before. So here we go.
Note:
The title of this book has been translated into English by me for the
reading comprehension of this blog's viewers as the book itself isn't
available in English (yet). The original title reads De boogschutter van Hirado.
Okay so funny story, I was in a hurry at the library one afternoon and ended up picking up this book by complete accident due to not fully paying attention. I was looking for another book with an archer on the front cover with by an author with a similar name, and when I pulled this from the shelves in a rush it looked similar enough to the book I was actually looking for.
But I ended up reading it anyways, of course. This is actually my second book by Ruggenberg that I'm reading. He seems to like writing historical fiction. Spoilers ahead. Also, this review contains a brief mention of CSA. Just a quick warning.
I have yet to watch the film adaptation, but I've always been interested in this book after catching a brief glimpse of the movie a while ago. Spoilers ahead.

I do love bugs, so here's another bug-book review.
I do love fiction set in ice age periods surrounding prehistoric animals and of course the hunter-gatherers of back then, so I borrowed a books of this type from my library. Unfortunately, none of the three I borrowed turned out to be particularly good. Ah well, I'm reviewing some of them anyways. Spoilers ahead.

A xenofiction about a German shepherd raised by wolves, what could possibly go wrong? Spoilers ahead?
Unlike what the title may imply this isn't a religious text at all, but instead a non-fiction on various man eating species.
I saw this one at the bookstore one day and I knew I just had to read it eventually. So I did. Spoilers ahead.
I used to be obsessed with dinosaurs as a very young kid. In recent years, not so much. At all, really. I still think they're cool but whenever I try to engage with dinosaur content these days I tend to get bored earlier or later. I don't know why, I wish I still had my childlike wonder for these creatures. Ah well, case in point: this book.
The final book in the first arc. I don't know when I'll get to the second, as that's a slight issue. See, I've been reading arc one by borrowing them all from the library in Dutch, however the second arc of Seekers has never been translated into this language, and it probably will not be in the future. So this mean that I'll have to go about buying them all which I'm totally fine with, but generally does take me longer to review the books like this.
Anyways, let's dive in. Spoilers ahead.
