Another one of this series!
As the title implies, this book covers the bare bones basics of the Middle Ages.
Like the previous book in this series I've reviewed (Mammals), this is a decent book about the subject. Short and sweet, but it gives one enough information about the topic at hand and this one, unlike Mammals, actually ended up teaching me a few new things about the Middle Ages (as well as a few new English words, since I'm not a native English speaker). This is obviously not a book for someone who is looking for depth, but it is a good starting point.
However, I do agree with other reviewers that A) the book is a bit chaotic, going from topic to topic. I also personally would've liked to see just a general timeline of what happens when, because with us hopping all over the place from time era and topic to the next, it gets a bit hard to put it all together. So while I appreciate the author's knowledge, I'd have liked it to have been presented in a more structured (and maybe chronologically ordered) way. However if that's impossible with the topic at hand I also understand, since it covers a huge time range and of course many countries in these times.
A neat starting point for people who haven't read much about history like me, but not super in-depth.
