I wasn't too fond of book one in this series, but I do want to give the rest a look. Spoilers ahead.
The daughter of the protagonist of book one crosses the sea and goes to look for her sister, Bluetail. On her journey she befriends a raven and comes across a wolf who met Bluetail.
It's a short story, this one, really just a novelette. Not a proper lengthy sequel to the first book. But for what it is...yeah, I enjoyed it.
Maybe it is because I found the Daughter (that's just what I'll call our nameless protagonist) more interesting than the Father (book one protagonist), but I genuinely liked her character and journey much more than the Father's in book one. I was really rooting for her to find Bluetail. And the revelation that Bluetail is dead is devastating. I also liked the side characters of the raven and the stranger. They were nice.
I don't have much to say about this one because it is so short, but I do think it's pretty solid and enjoyable. Just a likable character going on a journey and finding out new things along the way.
I am still a bit bothered by the fact that a lot of characters don't have names, but it didn't bother me as much here as it did in book one.
A solid sequel, even if short.
