Yay, more wolf non-fiction.
This is a book for young readers about wolves. It has many illustrations and focuses on things such as what a wolf looks like, what and how they hunt, how they live and communicate, how they develop and grow, etc.
Overall it's a pretty bare bones book, but there's nothing wrong with that. Very basic information about the wolf, but enough to get younger readers (probably) invested in the species. It doesn't go in-depth anywhere but for me it personally doesn't need to. This was enough information while also being brief enough for the young target audience.
The illustrations were also very nice, and they are present in abundance. My only gripe would be that the wolves here are drawn with a dew claws on their hind legs, which is just something wolves explicitly do not have. Some dogs do, but they're just not something that occurs in wolves, so it's an odd detail to include. Probably just an oversight by the artist or maybe they're more used to drawing dogs. But otherwise the illustrations were very pretty and nice to look at.
Overall this book is pretty good. Basic information but enough to keep the young reader engaged. I've seen some reviews of the English version complain about grammar mistakes, but I didn't find any in the Dutch translation I read. Maybe that's exclusive to the English edition.
